Nxai Pan National Park is a protected area with the status of a national park in the north-east of the African country of Botswana, which is based on the region known as Nxai Pan, which is one of the Makgadikgadi Pan salt flats. This park is considered for inclusion in the Kavango-Zambeze Transboundary Conservation Area. In recent years due to heavy rains, salt flats can be temporarily filled with water. The National Park is located on the northeast edge of the Kalahari desert, at an altitude of 900 meters above sea level.
